Interstate Compact

 For Adult Offender Supervision

The Interstate Compact for Adult Offender Supervision (ICAOS) is a formal agreement between the 50 states, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia that seeks to promote public safety by systematically controlling the interstate movement of certain adult offenders. Interstate Compact rules carry the weight of federal law and all state officials and state courts are required to effectuate the terms of the compact and ensure compliance with these rules.
